Soap Nuts aren't really a nut at all, they are a berry that grows on the Sapindus Mukorossi (Soap Berry) tree in the Himalayas. They contain Saponin, a natural surfactant which breaks the surface tension of water to penetrate fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric.

These wild-harvested berries are gathered from trees organically grown without any chemicals, fertilizers, or by pesticides and certified USDA Organic by Oregon Tilth.  Soap nuts are gentle on clothes and skin, and are perfect for those with sensitivities, baby clothes and even cloth diapers.
