Dinner Hacks: 2 Ingredient Stasher Steamed Spaghetti Squash

We know so many New Year’s resolutions include new attempts at eating great, so to help you along the way, we’re bringing you our new “Dinner Hacks” blog series with easy, fun, and delicious recipes using our Earth-friendly products.

Today we’re featuring a super easy, two ingredient meal from our friends over at Stasher Bag. One of our favorite (& fastest selling) products is the glorious Stasher Bag! If you're looking to go plastic-free in your kitchen, this is a must have item. Not only will it replace plastic baggies with Earth-friendly silicone ones, it will also change the way you cook, keep, prep, and eat!

Stasher Steamed Spaghetti Squash Topped with Marinara 

Ingredients

  • 1 small spaghetti squash

  • 1 jar of your favorite marinara

Make

  • Clean and halve the spaghetti squash length-wise

  • Clean out the inside by removing the seeds and fibers with a spoon

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil

  • Place one half of the cleaned squash in a half-gallon stasher bag, seal partially

  • Place the bag into the large pot of boiling water, cover with a lid.

  • Let the squash steam until tender (about 30-45 minutes)

  • Turn the burner off and carefully removed the squash bag with pot holders or tongs

  • Let the squash cool for a couple minutes

  • Remove from squash from the bag and scrape the inside out with a fork, making "spaghetti"

  • Add to a bowl and pour heated marinara over, enjoy!

  • Extra yummy tip: feel free to top with regular or vegan mozzarella…

  • Super yummy tip: add fresh spinach and garlic to your “spaghetti” noodles and marinara, then top with cheese before popping under the broiler on high for 3-5 mins, or until bubbly and brown. Super yum!
