Declare your Independence from Plastic!!!

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for people to dig oil out of the ground, ship it to far corners of the world & turn it into one-use containers in which to hold water and various other substances, we know we must separate ourselves from this folly and begin again to respect the gifts of the earth, submit ourselves to the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God, and promote a decent respect for the health of mankind & all inhabitants of this Earth, committing & remembering the causes which impel us to the separation.

Here are just a few reasons to join the revolution - for yourself and your family, our neighborhoods and our world!

Toxic chemicals leach out of plastic and are found in the blood and tissue of nearly all of us. Exposure to them is linked to cancers, birth defects, impaired immunity, endocrine disruption and other ailments. Plastic waste can be found from polar seas to the ocean gyres to the very bottom of the ocean. More than 20 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises have been documented as ingesting plastic debris. It’s estimated that by 2050 over 99 percent of all seabird species will have ingested plastic and over 50% of sea turtle species have ingested plastic. Beneath the thousands of landfills in our country, you’ll find the toxic chemicals from plastics seeping into our groundwater, which eventually finds its way into lakes, rivers, drinking water and oceans!

Come into any EcoMountain Modern Living Store and add your name to our Declaration of Independence from Plastic, and we’ll honor your commitment with a FREE silicone travel straw!

Stay Fresh

Living an Earth-conscious life is rewarding, but it's challenging when you have little mouths to feed (all while on a budget!) We've been there and are here to help you make the most of your journey. We're proud to share Earth-friendly living ideas, simple how-to guides, clean eating recipes, and will feature a few of our favorite products along the way.

What makes EcoMountain Modern Living different?

We know how frustrating it can be to find soaps and cleaners that are safe for your family, as well as how labor-intensive it can be to try to source the non-toxic materials yourself. That's why in each of our stores, we're proud to offer a Handmade Homecare station where you get to make your own mopping soap, all purpose cleaners and laundry/dishwasher detergents! No more grating soap flakes or lugging around 50 pound bags of citric acid – we have all you need to make your own non-toxic home cleaners in each of our stores.

How It Works in 3 Easy Steps

Choose a Recipe

From laundry detergent to dishwashing soap – all our recipes are non-toxic.
